Laredo was named for a town in Spain by Capt. Tomas Sanchez of the Royal Army of Spain when a post was first established here in 1755. U.S. Weather Bureau figures show that this city has an average of 350 days of sunshine annually and an average yearly temperature of 77 degrees.
