Line of the Minutemen Marker
Lexington, Massachusetts
Standard Size Chrome postcard in good, unused condition. This post card was copyrighted in 1970 by Yankee Colour Corporation of Southborough, Massachusetts.
Back of Card:
At Lexington, Massachusetts, on April 19, 1775, Captain John Parker waited with a Company of 135 Minutemen for the British but when no news came he disbursed them. At 4:30 a.m. came the cry "The British are coming" and 77 armed Minutemen assembled on the Battle Green under his command. The British Commander, Major Pitcairn, ordered them to lay down their arms. A shot rang out and the battle began.
Wavy lines on chrome postcards are from my scanner and NOT on the actual card.
