Calendar Postcard
Edward H. Mitchell Vintage Postcard in Very Good, Posted 1911 Condition. This postcard was used as a monthly advertisment for the H.C. Capwell Co. of Oakland, California. Post Card has the DH4 backing which is considered scarce.
Front of card:
May
Contracted from the Latin word Majores, the elders, by which were known; this month was named in respect to them by Romulus, who was named June. (See card for next month.) Artist Signature, W.K. Briggs is located in lower left corner.
Back of card:
The Month of May
in California, with its wealth of sunshine, warms our thoughts to summer rainment, with Lingerie Suits and Waists easily claiming first place therein. This leads us to the statement that in these particular lines we are better prepared than ever before to meet your wants. Dainty suits the creations of New York's best makers, combining the sheer white fabrics of fashion with lovely laces and elegant embroideries, priced from $7.50 to $75.00.
It seems a waste of words to attempt to tell of the Waist worthiness here assembled. No maker of note was overlooked in our selections, and so there is variety as well as beauty and worth in the line. Priced from $1.25 to $25.00 each.
