The Terrace Walk in Torquay, UK
Raphael Tuck & Sons' Vintage Oilfasism postcard in excellent, unused condition. This post card is part of Series II "Torquay" and is after the original painting by H.B. Wimbush.
Oilfasism was a term used by Raphael Tuck & Sons' for postcards that have "brush strokes"
giving the postcard a oil painting look.
Back of card:
The Terrace Walk, Torquay. The abundant and luxuriant sub-tropical foliage here is a pleasant surprise to visitors from other parts of Great Britain, who never imagined that such delicate trees, plants and shrubs would flourish in our country. They have all the rreshness and quality of those of Italy and of the Rivera, and are evidence of the equable climate of Torquay and of the mildness of its winters.
