A fine highway twists up into the Sacramento Mountains in southern New Mexico, getting the visitor off the beaten path and into the semi wilderness areas of the State. In the far background may be seen the Great White Sands, a National Monument. This strange phenomenon is a 30 mile desert of brilliant white gypsum.
