Taking the motorist from Rock Creek Canyon up the face of the mountain in a series of switchbacks...climbing 5,000 feet in 15 miles with nothing over a 6% grade...a high gear road with room enough on the curves or switchbacks to park a hundred or more cars. Pronounced by experts as the most wonderful feat of road engineering and construction in America.
