Bunker Hill Monument
in Charlestown is a gigantic obelisk 221 feet high. It was built between 1825 and 1843 and commemorates the Battle of Bunker Hill, June 17, 1775. The spiral stairway of 294 steps leads to the top where a breathtaking view is obtained. It is one of Boston's premier attractions.
