Public Garden, Boston, Mass. The Public Garden is the best known and most beautiful park in Boston, covering a total area of 24 acres. Many varieties of plants are bedded in rich and attractive designs during the flower season. The Washington Statue, near the Arlington Street Entrance, one of the greatest equestrian statues in the world, was erected in 1869 at a cost of $42,000.
