Constructed at a cost of $1,571,000 at the edge of the city of San Antonio, this dam is across a dry channel which drains the rainfall from a wide area of hill country, and the ovly outlet of which is the San Antonio River, over which there are about fifty bridges within the city limits. This dam is for flood prevention, but has been made one of the most attractive drives in the city.
