This monument on Eagle's Nest Bluff, 200 ft. high, overlooking Rock River, is 26 miles from Rockford on Illinois 2. The 48 foot statue weighs over 268 tons, stands on a 6 ft. base, and is hollow. It is a reminder of the days when the red men, in all their wild and savage glory, roamed this country. It was designed by Lorado Taft.
